Procedure for adding music library to Sonos using a desktop controller

Procedure for updating music library index
Changes to a music library like making new playlists, addition, and removal of tracks, or just adjusting album network requires one to refresh/update the music index on Sonos before these progressions appear in the Sonos controller. To update, click on the “manage music Library” which is under “settings,” choose “Update Music Index Now,” Click on “Scan Now” for confirmation. For Sonos Desktop Controller Application for Mac or computer: click “update Music Library Now” from the “Manage’ menu and click on “Yes” for confirmation. The process of updating the music library index might take many minutes to complete.
How to schedule automatic music library index updates
In case there are regular changes to the music library, it is possible to schedule an automatic/programmed music index updates. After the setup, Sonos will examine the library for changes once every day at any particular time indicated.
To set up an automatic update: Touch on “Settings” from the Sonos Music Menu, touch “Manage Music Library” then touch on “Schedule Music Index Updates” to turn on the options, select the preferred time for the update to happen. From the Sonos Desktop controller Application: select “Music Library Settings” from the “Manage” menu, click on the “Advanced” and choose “Update content every day at:” then choose the preferred time for the update to happen. The computer should be turned on at the selected time to run the index update successfully.
